Krista Tippett speaks at the On Being Gathering

As a longtime listener of Krista Tippett’s On Being radio show and podcast, I was thrilled to be chosen as one of the participants of her inaugural Gathering, which rather like the show featured inspiring conversations around spirituality, science, art, philosophy and life. Held at the just completed new retreat center 1440 in Santa Cruz, it brought together people doing inspiring, transformational work from all over the world. My “Pod” mates alone featured a lawyer working on Palestinian rights for the UN in Jerusalem, a gender rights activist from Victoria, Canada, and a social worker using restorative justice practices to tackle the drug epidemic in rural Colorado. It’s safe to say, I left the Gathering inspired and re-energized in knowing there are so many folks doing amazing, transformative work in the world, and I returned home, recommitted to doing my small part in this global movement.
