Movies are like a machine that generates empathy. It lets you understand a little bit more about different hopes, aspirations, dreams and fears. It helps us to identify with the people who are sharing this journey with us.”

CHANGING SEASON Premiere and Award

In March, the new feature documentary I edited, Changing Season on the Masumoto Family Farm, had it's world premiere at CAAMFest with back-to-back sold out shows at the Oakland Museum of California and The New Parkway Cinema.  The Masumoto family came down from Fresno to join the whole production team on stage to celebrate.

In late April, the film travelled to the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival where the Masumotos again appeared before a large audience of fans, family and friends.  Additionally, my longtime production partner won the award for Best Documentary Filmmaker for Changing Season.  After a two year journey to the screen, the film is finally taking flight!  Look for it at a film festival near you (and if your local programmers don't know about it yet, please let them know or share the trailer!)
