Movies are like a machine that generates empathy. It lets you understand a little bit more about different hopes, aspirations, dreams and fears. It helps us to identify with the people who are sharing this journey with us.”

I can help you if you are just starting out on the process of making a film, what it takes to get started and to get there.  I can advise on fundraising, having been part of three crowd funding campaigns, as well as the grant process  and have edited many iterations of sample cuts (getting funding from Sundance, California Council of Humanities, San Francisco Foundation, Pacific Pioneer Fund etc.).  As a fellow of the Sundance Creative Producing Summit as well as a Bay Area Video Coalition Mediamaker fellow, I know what it takes to get a film off the ground, as well the extra elements that will catch a funders eye like educational materials and the brave new world of transmedia, broadening the scope, the audience and the impact of your film.

As an editor, I have a keen eye for story and will go over ideas, sample reels, and cuts of a film at any, or every, stage of the process and give you valuable insight on what is and isn’t working, how to tighten up structure, develop character and story, and bring out the emotional power of your piece.  I love helping people hone their story.   Contact me!
